Richard Troy Smith

Richard (Rick) Troy Smith, 72, of Camby, Indiana passed away on March 15, 2025 in Indianapolis, IN. Rick was born in Clarksburg, WV to Troy and Rosemary Smith on June 24th, 1952. He married Jana (Hern) Smith on April 27, 1985. Rick graduated from Roosevelt-Wilson High School in 1970. He is preceded in death by parents Troy and Rosemary Smith. Survivors include his wife Jana; sister, Judy Peasak (Danny); brother, Dave (companion Patty Lewis); and nephew Jeremy Smith.

Rick retired after working 35 years at USAirways as a Fleet Service Agent in Indianapolis and a short while in Charlotte, NC. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with the many friends he made at work. Rick was a car enthusiast and loved going to car shows and cruise-ins with friends and family. He was an animal lover who had several cats over the years. The most recent ones being Jimmy and Mac, named after Jimmy Buffett's band who he loved to listen to while working on his antique cars. Rick was a talented Intarsia wood-worker and created many animal sculptures and woodland scenes.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 1:00PM-2:00PM with a service to immediately follow at 2:00PM at Plainfield Christian Church: 800 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield, Indiana 46168.
