Richard Leon Sturges: He was born in Indianapolis and served in the US Navy. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1947. He was married to Velma (Harbin) Sturges for almost 63 yrs until her death. He leaves behind to cherish four children: Debra, Pamela, Michael, and Scott and six grandchildren.
Richard had a fantastic sense of humor and never met a stranger. He was a charitable man, always willing to help others. He worked at Citizens Energy for over 40 years. He loved to travel. He loved animals and always had a dog at his side. He was a member of the Indiana Freemasons since 1952. He was also a member of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction 32° since 1971.
Visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, US, on June 30, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00pm. A graveside service will follow at the conclusion of visitation.
