61, of McCordsville, died July 23, 2017. She was born September 8, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana to John O’Brien and Rita Mary Richter Vollmer. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Christian Church. Rita was very active in AA and help sponsored several women. Rita is survived by her sons John (Jamie) Ward, Thomas Ward Jr., Patrick Ward, grandchildren Gage Gabel, Sadie Ward and Sophia Ward. Visitation will be Friday, July 28 from 4 – 8 pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, with a Trisagion Service at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 29 at 10 am at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, with visitation an hour before. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
