He was a machine operator for Rolls Royce. He was a member of the VFW. Bob enjoyed fishing, IU basketball, Indianapolis Colts and he loved his family and his beloved dog Rodney.
He is survived by his beloved children Jamie ( Nathaniel Martin) McClure and Joshua (Ashtyn Jones) Benson, grandson Aaron Martin, brothers Penrod (Deloris) Benson, Bill Benson, sisters Mary Lou (Jerry) Belser and Tracey (Dennis) Lovins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Denny Benson. beloved wife of 39 years Shermalene Benson, granddaughter Kayla Martin, brother David Benson, sister Sheila Benson.
Visitation will be Friday, August 27 from 12 pm to 2 pm at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
