Bob was always a pleasant member to serve at Old Oakland Golf Club. Ill never forget how you made me never forget your face coming in on the turn and a fresh hot dog warm and ready to snag and go. Always a good presence to be around. My condolences go out to your wife and family! The golf game will be a little different without you hitting them straight down the middle! RIP Bob.

My husband and I moved to Fishers eight years ago. It was just the two of us then, and Bob and Bonnie were so welcoming. A few years later when our kids joined our family, Bob and Bonnie became like honorary grandparents to our children. Our kids always knew on nice days, the top would be down on the Mustang and Mr. Bob was likely heading to the golf course. I've always adored and loved Bob's kind and reserved spirit. Always across the street to offer a kind smile and a wave, but also always ready for a chat with the adults or especially the kids. He will definitely be missed on The Lane. Thoughts and prayers to you all as you navigate the loss of such a wonderful man. — The Hartgraves Family —

My amazing stepfather, thank you for all the teachings you imparted on me in our near 40 years together. Without too much typing, i can probably best summarize with thanks for being a great role model on how to consistently and selflessly love and care- for my mom, for my special sister, presence for all your kids/grandkids/great-grandkids through any and all of life's moments. Those are lessons I'm trying hard to use now that I am fortunate enough to be a spouse and father. All our love, Brett, Stacy, Simon, and Pierce.

My wife, Lizette, and I loved Bob for all the obvious reasons. He was kind, generous, funny and a joy to be around. Playing golf with Bob was always an “adventure” as so many of his playing partners will tell you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bonnie and the entire O’Brien family. Bob will not be forgotten, I promise you.

Bob was a fierce competitor on the course, and a complete gentleman afterwards. Having played with and against him for decades, I don't recall hearing him complain. (At least not for long and not about anything that truly mattered.)

A life well played.

Bob, you're already missed. Rest In Peace, my friend.
