Mr. Robert Lee Gray, Sr., affectionately known as “Bob” was born on October 5, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Samuel Lee Gray, Sr. and Lillian Etta Lyons Gray. Bob was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.
After graduating from Franklin Central High School in 1965, Bob attended Indiana Business College concentrating in business and accounting. Bob worked for the Link-Belt Company from 1966 to 1972 as a timekeeper and accountant. He then transitioned into the insurance industry working as a sales agent for multiple insurance companies in Indiana. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he later created the Bob Gray Insurance Agency which he operated for several years. Bob then worked as a carpet sales representative until his health proved to make working challenging.
At an early age Bob professed a hope in Christ, serving as an active member of Jones Tabernacle African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church during both his childhood and as an adult. Bob was united in marriage to Elaine Washington November 25, 1967. From this union, two children were born: Robert Jr. and Angela.
Known for his thoughtfulness and having a heart of gold, Bob never forgot a birthday or anniversary. One could always expect a phone call and a card in the mail. Bob never met a stranger. With a big heart, joyful spirit, and an infectious laugh and smile, he would say “Hello” to everyone that crossed his path. His kind face and warm greeting made you feel like he had known you forever. Bob loved to spend time with his grandchildren, cheering them on at track meets, cheerleading, basketball, and flag football. He never let being in a wheelchair keep him away. It didn't matter, he wanted to be there to support!
Mr. Robert Lee Gray, Sr. departed this life on Friday January 10, 2025 at the age of seventy-eight years old. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, siblings Richard Gray, Shirley M. Fluckus, and nephew, Chad Gray.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain: for the former things are passed away.
