Robert Carl Murray

Robert was born on September 5, 1961 in Decatur, IL to parents Charles Murray Jr., and Opal Laverne Wright. Robert married the love of his life, Jeanette Yvonne Pote on July 27, 1991 in Assumption, IL.

Robert worked for 11 years maintaining the grounds of Crown Hill Cemetery. He also worked for 5 years at Sandlian Management (U-Stor) as Assistant Manager. Robert was a devoted family man. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, and loved sharing his testimony to anyone he came across. Robert worked hard at staying active, and in shape. He even won a trophy for arm wrestling! He was a big supporter of the Military and all Veterans. He was proud to be an American.

Together Jeanette and Robert shared 34 beautiful years of marriage, and enjoyed trips to Florida to see the beach. He loved reading his bible, and loved cheering on the Chicago Bears football team. Robert loved his family very much, and will be deeply missed.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Murray Jr., and Opal Laverne Murray, and his brother, Charles Murray.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Murray, children, Judy (Paul) Slater, Bobby Murray, Mandy (Ramon) Alcocer, Zach Shaw, 18 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

A visitation for Robert will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Southeast Baptist Tabernacle, 6835 Shelbyville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46237. A visitation will occur Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Southeast Baptist Tabernacle 6835 Shelbyville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46237. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM, Southeast Baptist Tabernacle, 6835 Shelbyville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
