

Robert met Jessie Jackson in 1965 and married her on July 09, 1966. Jessie was his pride and joy.
Black Bobby or Bob O as he was affectionately called by all who loved and knew him. He went Canton High School and finished 10th grade before transferring to Indianapolis, Indiana with his family in the early 1960s. Black Bobby was employed by CONRAIL and retired from Conrail after 30 years. In the 1979 he joined the Black Angels Motorcycle Club where he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He loved to Fish and spend time with his Wife and family. He enjoyed time with his great grandchildren teaching them the ropes of how to fish. He enjoyed picking them up on Saturday mornings to take them to work with him. Anytime the family would look up Granddad would be gone fishing.
He accepted Christ at an early age where he joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of C.V. Getters, and stayed under the leadership of Pastor Brian Shobe. He was a devoted member of Shiloh and devoted member of the Male Chorus. He sang “Oh Mary Don’t you weep”.
He was the 2nd child born to both parents.
Mr Robert Smith transitioned and was greeted at the heavenly gates by his Heavenly Father on Saturday December 6 2025 at 6:05 PM surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents S.T. And Catherine Smith Sr, his siblings Sarah Wade, Josephine Battle, and Peggy Smith, one brother S.T. Jr a great grandson Temario Stokes Jr granddaughter Courtney Haynes, AND a special friend Mr. Curt
He leaves to cherish in his memory his wife of 59 years Jessie Smith his daughters Rosie, Rhonda, Catherine,Tracy, Kimberly, and Fay sons Robin and Cleveland Robinson, and Terry Brown, brother Dennis (Andrea), his sister's Chris, Jacqualine, and Lawaneka, grandsons Jessie and Fredrick Smith Robert and Temario Stokes Raamiah William Vest, Tracy Jr Lamont Deonta and Deon, granddaughters Kaela, Jessica, Da’Shae, Erika,and Ebony, 30 great grandchildren , 3 great great grandchildren,a host of nieces, nephews and his fishing buddies.

Visitation will be held at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3801 Forest Manor Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46226, on December 20, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The Celebration of Life will follow at the same location, beginning at 1:00 pm.
