Robert Bruce Stevenson, 68, passed away embraced by the women in his life that he loved. He was historian extraordinaire of the Irvington neighborhood he loved, keeper of the Halloween faith, master of sarcasm unequaled, devoted patron of the Steer-In, lover of dark humor, living Indianapolis Street map, and proud title holder of family black sheep (which will be bequeathed by default to a certain sister).
He retired from AT&T after many years of service and enjoyed retirement to the fullest.
Bruce is predeceased by his father Robert and long-time partner Kent Haney. He is survived by his mother Grace, sisters Debbie (Kent), Carolyn, Julie (Frank), Susie (Kevin), brother Jim (Sarah), nieces and nephews Amy, Erin, Grant, Jayme, Lauren, Connor, Cole and numerous friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to his caretakers at IU Health ICU.
In memory of Bruce please eat, drink, and be merry every single day.
Your presence and support mean the most. If you would like to honor Bruce with a gift, memorial donations may be made to the Damien Center in honor of his memory.
