Roger Charles Summers, 69, of Indianapolis passed peacefully on December 21, 2014 from complications after a lengthy illness. He was born February 25, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Charles and Hilda (Strawn) Summers.
He grew up on the east side of Indianapolis where he attended parochial school at Little Flower and graduated high school from Arsenal Tech. He worked for 18 years at Ford Motor Company and then entered the hospitality industry where he worked throughout the remainder of his life. Some of his greatest times and fondest memories were when he was a successful baseball coach at Community Little League.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Summers Tuzzolo and son Jeffrey Summers. He is also survived by his brother Tom Summers and his sister NancyAnn (Summers) Weaver.
Roger’s children would like to thank Community Nursing and Rehabilitation for the many years of care they provided their father. Thank you, also, to Horizon Hospice Care.
A private service will be held in Crown Hill Cemetery.
