He was a member of Christ Missionary Baptist Church. He was also invoved with the Baptist Men's Ministry.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, wife, two sons and two daughters.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Roland S. Poindexter, daughters, Karen Williams, Yasmine Akers, Ruth Motley, Michelle Poindexter, special daughter, Carol Hale, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
His visitation will take place on Friday, September 19, 2014, 4pm- 8pm, with the Homegoing Celebration commencing on Saturday at 11am at Christ Missionary Baptist Church.
