Ronald Darrly Clark was born on May 7, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Norma Jean Portis. Ronnie was the oldest of six children. Ronnie’s brother John Johnson preceded him in his passing.
Ronnie grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. He later went on to study Business Administration at Grambling State University. His first job was a lifeguard at Riverside Park and he later conducted deployment training for the Dept. of Military Instruction at Fort Harrison. In 1983, Ronnie became an Accounting Technician performing audits for Travel Pay Operations at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). “RC”, as he was known at DFAS, successfully audited for 24 years.
Ronnie had a passion for people. He could talk to anyone on any level; from the next-door neighbor to military Generals and CEOs. His ability to connect with people led him to self-employment as a Distributor with Tahitian Noni International and most recently in the delivery service industry in Houston, Texas, where, in the previous year, he provided delivery services to victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Ronnie loved motorcycles, electronics, rock and roll, and peach cobbler. He produced and distributed training CDs for his Tahitian Noni business, created musical CDs for friends and family, and took miles and miles of photos and videos to share. He liked the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and KISS to name a few; but he also liked the sounds belonging to Michael Jackson, Sade, Seal, Kenny G., and similar artists.
Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Ana-Reba Clark; his brothers, Vernon Portis and Robert Taylor; his sisters, Sherrie Rutland and Elaine Portis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
