Ronald “Ron” was preceded in death by his loving parents Robert and Lorraine Dyson, his twin brother Donald Dyson, his baby sister Nancy, and Denise Pierson Dyson, former wife and the mother of his child.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Paula Dyson; his son Michael (Christina) Dyson; his daughters: Pamela Dyson Bonnewell, Valerie Dyson (James) Kelley, and Shelby Dyson; step-children: Ryan (Nicole) Cowart and Nicole (Jordan) Knue; brother Keith Dyson; grandchildren: Broc Dyson, Bryce Dyson, Amanda Harris, Todd Harris, Christopher Parker, Amanda Dyson, Mitchell Bonnewell, Austin Bonnewell, Brett Bonnewell, Chase Bonnewell, Danielle Brothers, and Emma Matlock; 5 great grandchildren and one on the way. He will be missed dearly by his beloved dog Sasha, and many friends especially lifelong best friend of 73 years, Phil (Jan) Marsh of Lenior, NC.
Born in New London, Connecticut, the Dyson family moved to Indianapolis, IN while Ron was a child. He attended Southport High School and shortly thereafter became a US Marine. After his service, he became a pattern maker by trade and spent many years working for Jade Enterprises in Anderson, Indiana. After many years with Jade Enterprises, Ron transitioned to Peerless Pump in Indianapolis, Indiana where he retired as a CNC machinist and lathe operator in 2012. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, playing darts, watching NASCAR races, IU games and all Big10 games. As a retiree, Ron and Paula spent 6 years living it up in Florida and away from the chilly Indiana weather.
Graveside service and inurnment will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11am at Calvary Cemetery, Court of the Apostles mausoleum. This open-air mausoleum sits on a hill with a large cross on the building at each of the 4 entrance points. Calvary Cemetery is located at 435 West Troy Ave, Indianapolis IN 46217.
Immediately following the graveside service, a celebration of life will take place at the Smock Golf Course clubhouse from 12pm-3pm. Smock Golf Course is located at 3910 County Line Road, Indianapolis IN 46237.
