Ronald Eugene Easley was introduced to the world on September 29,1947. He didn’t come alone; three minutes after Ronald’s birth, his twin, Donald joined him. They shared the baby room of General Hospital, later known as Wishard Hospital.
Ronald and Donald were the first born children and the first set of twins for their parents, Alonzo and Dorothy (Mae Pendergrass) Easley. Alonzo and Dorothy had ten additional children; three sets of twins(one set of twin boys died at birth) and four singular births. The Easley Family expanded and so did their love and fun times with each other.
Ronald’s education started at Elementary School Numbers Twenty-Three and Thirty-Two. Ronald would later attend Crispus Attucks High School, as all of the Easley siblings.
Alonzo and Dorothy knew the value of their children attending Sunday church services, so they made sure Ronald and his siblings grew up going to church, every Sunday. The Easley children did not receive any options for learning about God. They attended Metropolitan Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Sweat.
Ronald and all of the Easley children were recruited to use their vocal talents under the mentorship of Mr. And Mrs. Dinwiddie(RIP Dinwiddies). Being a member of The Dinwiddie Community Choir meant Ronald and his siblings (other neighborhood children too) were picked up with the choir’s yellow bus and singing for various churches.
Ronald’s employment journey began at a young age. He and his Uncle Henry Edmonds worked and bonded at their mutual employer, Schmucker Construction. Ronald was a loyal employee to the construction company for over twenty years. He was known as a leader and teacher for some of the other employees.
During Ronald’s young adulthood, he met the love of his life, Sheila “Bebe” Poindexter. Ronald and Bebe were united in marriage in the year of 1968. Their union was blessed to produce two children; Ronald Eugene Easley, Jr. and Shawn Easley. Ronald and Bebe loved each other more than words can ever describe.
Ronalds Finale
Ronald lived a peaceful life. He loved listening to music, particularly RnB from various Motown artists. Ronald and Donald did not neglect spending time with each other. On any given weekday or weekend, the twins would listen to music, talk about their young lives, and make jokes. Ronald also had a wonderful bond with his little brothers, Michael and Anthony and with his cousin, Danny.
There were times when one could find Ronald and Anthony at any fishing hole catching or trying to catch fish. Fishing was a favorite pastime of Ronald. Ronald really loved watching old cowboy movies too. Ronald kept a smile on his face and a laugh in his heart.
Ronald’s life journey ended on December 14, 2025. Ronald is now in his new home with God, along with his parents, Alonzo and Dorothy Easley, son Shawn Easley, wife Sheila Poindexter - Easley, brother Steven Easley and sister Patricia Easley.
