

88, of Fishers, Indiana, formerly of Sun City Center, Florida, departed this life on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at his home. Ron was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois and was the son of the late Joseph John and Eva Theresa (nee Smith) Pelton. He had proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserves and was a graduate of the University of Illinois and then earned his MBA from Pace University in Pleasantville, New York.
Ron worked as a mechanical engineer for AT&T for 30 years. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Indianapolis and formerly a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center, FL and Notre Dame Catholic Church in Clarendon Hills, IL. Ron often volunteered for various activities at Sun City Center. He was a man of faith and family and cherished being a husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past president for his Del Webb Men’s Club in Sun City Center, FL.
In his parenting days, he took great pleasure in supporting his boy’s baseball programs, and being a Cubmaster. Ron relaxed by gardening vegetables and flowers and loved his roses. He was a Master Gardener and volunteered his talents for Hillsborough County, Florida. He was an accomplished artist working with stained glass. Ron enjoyed following the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Illini Football. Ron was happiest though making meaningful memories with his beloved family.
Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Pelton in 1979.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Pelton; devoted children, Ron (Kitty) Pelton, Monica (Ed) Hesik, John (Amy) Pelton, Eric (Gretchen) Olson and Kurt Olson; grateful grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Pelton, Kyle Pelton, Eddie (Erin) Hesik, Andy (Kimber) Hesik, Cassie (Tylor) Rensel, Ashley, Travis and Amber Pelton, Drake, Connor, Spencer and Austin Olson; dear-great-granddaughter, Olivia Hesik and beloved brother-in-law, Richard (Regina) Reichley.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ron will begin at 10:00am on Monday, March 3rd at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ron’s name are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
