Rosa M. Mathis

Rosa was born in Rome, GA to Rosa Lee Bullock and William Howard on May 20, 1950. She grew up and went to school in Athens, GA. She married Charley Gene Mathis on May 30, 1972 in Oxford, MS. She worked as a homemaker for her family for fifty-one (51) years.

Rosa is preceded in death by her mother Rosa Lee Bullock, her father William Howard, her brother Charles Howard, her son Eric Mathis, and her grandson Carlos Mathis.

Rosa is survived by her husband, Charley Gene Mathis, daughter - LaShonya Young, daughter - LaTasha (Hakeem) Salami, son - Carlos (LaTonya) Mathis, son - Travis (Kendra) Mathis, daughter - LaTara Mathis brother - Ernest Howard, and grandchildren - Damon (Jessica) Jones Jr., Shalisa Jones, Keila Carter, Dontai Mathis, Kyra Carter, Jalisa Mathis, Niambi Carpenter, Yahshua Carpenter, Jamayha Mathis, Elizah Mathis, Alisa Young, Eric Mathis Jr., Tejanae Mathis, Meleike Bement, Gregory Cade, Trevon Mathis, LaTia Mathis, Anajah Mathis, Travis Jevon Mathis Jr., Trinity Mathis, and a host of great-children and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Crown Hill Funeral Home (Memorial Chapel), 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Crown Hill Funeral Home (Memorial Chapel), 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, with Pastor G.E. Studdard of Faith Changers Church, officiating. Burial will follow at New Crown Cemetery, 2101 Churchman Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46203. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to LaShonya Young, Carlos Mathis, and LaTara Mathis of Indianapolis, IN.
