Rosemarie Heckman

Rosemarie (Sexton) Heckman, passed away January 9, 2024. She was born September 30, 1926 to Ed and Marie (Lyons) Sexton of Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduating high school in 1944 from St. Agnes Academy she entered into the employment of Internal Revenue Service, Treasury Department until retirement in 1986. Rosemarie married her beloved Chuck on May 26, 1951. They became the parents of eight beautiful children. Chuck preceded Rosemarie in passing in 1987.

An active member of Holy Spirit Church of Indianapolis, she took much delight in singing in the church choir. She became a member of the first oblate group of Our Lady of Grace Monastery in Beech Grove in 1991.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her son, Eddy; daughter, Nancy Scott; daughter-in-law, Helen (Warner) Heckman; and her only sibling, Ed Sexton. Rosemarie is survived by her children, Kathy (Rick) Minor, Mary Heckman, Peggy (Charlie) Moore, Joan (Jim) Hatfield, Joe (Kelly) Heckman and Chuck Heckman; son-in-law, John Scott; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Rosemarie will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
