

Ruby was born to the late Tommy and Candie Moore Black Sr. in Shaw, Mississippi on March 10, 1939. She was raised in Shaw, Mississippi and spent time Grenada, Mississippi before her family moved to Mansfield, Ohio where she attended Mansfield Senior High School. Ruby and her husband, Justice, lived in Chicago, Illinois before settling and raising their family in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Ruby primarily worked in the dry-cleaning, and cleaning industries. In retirement, Ruby still kept busy. She enjoyed children and running a home daycare, being a great cook, and watching her "stories", gardening, and growing house plants. Ruby professed a hope in Christ and loved worshiping with her last church home, St. David Community Christian Worship Center C.O.G.I.C where she served on the Mother's Board.
Ruby will truly be missed by all that knew her. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Justice H. Weaver, her daughter, Sharon L. Weaver, her son, Tony Cowan (Verda), her grandchildren, LaShawn J. Weaver, Dawn E. Weaver, Justin J. Weaver, and Kendra Y. Harper, her great-grandchildren, Monica N. Weaver, Nasjae' E. Wells, Cincere K. Wells, Jonas K. Wells, Justice T. Weaver, Robert Weaver, and Bailie R. Harper, two sisters, Minnie Gamble, and Mamie Gamble, two brothers, Charles T. Black (Delores), and Jessie Black, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Tommy and Candie Moore Black Sr., her son, Robert E. Weaver, her sister Ruth Mae Brown, her brothers, Tommy Black Jr., Freddie Black, Willie Black, and Rev. James Black.
