85, formerly of Indianapolis, departed this life December 6, 2014 in Coppell, Texas. Ruby was born June 7, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late John and Ruby Lucille (Newbold) French. She worked for J.C. Penney in fabric sales and retired from First National Bank of Speedway as an accountant. Ruby loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to The Grand Canyon and Hawaii. She loved bowling and traveling ‘with the girls’, golf and anything John Wayne. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Herschel Wortman in 1983. Ruby is survived by her loving children, Jack Wortman, Mike (Karen) Wortman, Dan (Joanne) Wortman, Carol (Susan Ferrer) Lindsey and David (Anna) Wortman; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Ruby will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary and conclude at time of funeral services at 1:00 pm. Interment follows at Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested in her name to: American Cancer Society.
