

Russ was born December 1, 1945 to the late Ralph and Edith Reed. He graduated from St. Elmo Highschool in Illinois in 1964. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran from 1965-1967. He began working in the medical field in 1967 in Springfield, IL at Walgreens as a pharmacist. He then went to work for Super X Drugs where he met the love of his life, Maggie in 1974.
He retired in 2007 from the VA hospital in Indianapolis, IN as a pharmacy tech. Russell was the founding member of the 12-1 Club which includes his nephew Jon Park born 12-1-1962 and Allison Mae Reed born 12-1-2018.
Russell enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, giving his money away to the casinos and lottery tickets. He also had a passion for the Indy 500 where he was part of the safety patrol for numerous years where he met a variety of celebrities. He enjoyed shooting and collecting guns, especially with his dear friend Bill. He enjoyed his time on cruises, also traveling to one of his favorite destinations, Las Vegas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maggie Reed; his sons: Russell (Karen) Reed and Brandon (Kristin) Reed, daughter: Tina (Eddie) Hollander, and sister: Barbara (Gleason) Patrick; grandchildren: Kristin Stebbe, Shelby Windisch, Taylor Reed, Halle Reed, Trinaty Windisch, Russell Roux Reed; Great Grandchildren: Allison Mae Reed, Paris Windisch, Natalie Stebbe, and Colton Russell Lewis; four nieces and four nephews.
Along with his parents, awaiting his arrival in Heaven is his sister and brother-in-law: Margalee (Orville) Park; Nieces: Jana Jennen and Rhonda Smith; and his grandson Travis Windisch.
A visitation will be held at Little and Sons Funeral Home: 4901 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237, Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 4-7pm. An additional visitation will be held the following morning, Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 9-10am with a service to follow at 10am.
Russell will be laid to rest at Marion National Cemetery: 1700 E 38th Street Marion, IN 46953.
