Ruth Marie Wambsganss

Ruth Marie Wambsganss, 94, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2024. She was born on February 1, 1929 in Melrose Park, IL to the late Theobald and Marie Wukasch. Ruth was always a caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother – she would never forget a birthday. She enjoyed family vacations especially the annual trip to Wisconsin. Ruth was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church and was a secretary at St. John Lutheran School. She volunteered for the Crisis and Suicide Hotline for more than ten years and was honored by the City of Indianapolis for her service. Ruth was a talented soprano, having been a soloist for many weddings. She loved following IU Basketball and rarely missed a game on TV.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Wambsganss and son, Teddy Wambsganss.

She is survived by her daughters, Katie (Bob) Rode, Paula (Phil) Boley, Jeanie (Willy) Frizzell, and Julie Wambsganss; grandchildren, Christy (Nathan), Leah (Mike), Danny (Karee), Josh, Ryan, and Katie; along with her great grandchildren, Ethan, Ally, Ellie, Nick, Alex, and Nolan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home – Indianapolis, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 6630 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46203. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church & School.
