

Born to Alice and William Brown. Sandra was one of four children. The family resided in Lockfield Gardens.
Sandra attended IPS schools and was a proud graduate of Crispus Attucks in 1958.
During her high school years, Sandra was a Majorette. She loved showing her baton twirling skills to her daughter Lisa.
Sandra met the love of her life, Lester Taylor while in high school. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on June 27th, 1958.
Sandra was a loving and dutiful wife of Lester for 55 years, and a doting Mother of their three children, Tim, Lisa and Tony.
Once all Sandra’s children became of school age, she began working as a Teacher’s Aide for many years until her retirement.
After retiring from IPS, Sandra loved going to aerobics classes, shopping and most of all, she enjoyed keeping her “White House” immaculately clean and elegant. It was often said, “her house was clean you could eat off the kitchen floor”.
Sandra also enjoyed baking. Every Christmas, the family looked forward to her tasty Oatmeal and Raisin cookies, along with Fudge that melted in your mouth.
Sandra had a talent for cutting and styling hair, often called, “The Family Beautician”.
Sandra proclaimed her love for Jesus Christ on December 26th, 1999, alongside her sister Alice Dorsey at Forest Manor United Methodist Church.
Sandra was a loving, caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to many. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and loved her.
On May 16th, 2026, the doors of heaven opened to receive Sandra.
Preceding her to rest were her Parents: William and Alice Brown, Husband: Lester Taylor, Brother: William “Bill” Brown and Sister: Alice Dorsey.
Sandra is survived by her Devoted Daughter: Lisa Taylor, Sons: Tim (Cynthia) and Tony (Angela) Taylor. Granddaughter: Jillian Taylor and Grandsons: Elmastro “Tony” (Jeneice) Taylor, Justen Sholar-Taylor, Jordan Taylor, 5 Great Grandchildren, Borther: Norman Brown, Sister-in-Law Calverta Brown, Devoted/Caretaker Nieces: Pamela Douglas and Stacey Moore, Special Nephew: Jeff Dorsey, Devoted/Loyal Caretaker: Tina Edwards and a host of Family and Friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Remembrance Hall, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, on June 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
