

parents Clarence Richardson and Laura McPowell. Santras accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Indianapolis, Indiana. Santras graduated from Manassas High School in Memphis, Tennessee where she met her husband of over 50 years, Mack Edward Cleaves. Following graduation, Santras attended cosmetology school and became a successful cosmetologist for 30 plus years. Santras also worked as a nursing assistant and hospital switchboard operator. Santras enjoyed crafts, ceramics, traveling, reading, puzzles, and collecting designer
hats and clothes. She was known as “The Hat Lady.” Santras adored her family and
spending time with them.
Santras Almeta “Terrye” Sherrod Cleaves was called from earthly labor to heavenly
reward on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 8:06am at the age of 78 years old. She was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mack Edward Cleaves; her sister,
Linda Johnson; and her granddaughter Sheniece Franklin.
Santras leaves to cherish her legacy: her children, Diardre (Bruce) Allen of
Indianapolis, Indiana; Michael Cleaves of Indianapolis, Indiana; Terrell (Crystal)
Sherrod of Noblesville, Indiana; Kathy Cleaves of Baltimore, Maryland; Terrye Cleaves
of Key West, Florida and Nicholas Alo of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 6
great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Santras will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, January 17, 2022 in the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM. Santras will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery.
