Sarah Lynn Elder

Sarah with an “H” was born to John L. and Elsie Elder. She attended St. Matthews Grade School, Lawrence Central High School and IUPUI, then going on to become a respected insurance Underwriter.

Sarah was best know for her quick-witted dry humor, fierce determination and giving heart. She was a doer in life, always available to help out. She happily made delicious cookies and was a dedicated kickball Coach. Sarah's greatest accomplishment was being a great friend to all and was easily the Worlds Best Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father, John L. Elder, Jim Stum her fun partner in life and her older sister, Nancy Krekel who recently passed Dec 29, 2022.

Sarah is survived by her mother, Elsie Elder and siblings: Barbara (Daniel) Fisher of Camby, IN, Ann (Jerry) Coy of Knoxville, TN, John Elder II of Indianapolis, IN, Beth (Joseph) Molina of Carmel, IN, Christopher (Sherri) Elder of Noblesville, IN and brother-in-law Kurt Krekel of Hamilton, IL.

The family wishes to thank Sarah’s many family members and friends including her cohorts from Alibis, her fun high school gang, and her co-workers at Selective Insurance for their continual generosity of spirit. We also appreciate the stellar Staff of IU North Carmel for making Sarah’s last days comfortable and meaningful.

The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb 25 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Rd, Fishers, IN 46038. Visitation starts at the Church, 10:00AM with 10:40AM Eulogy and Mass. A Celebration of Life Luncheon to follow at the Parish Hall. All her family and her friends are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation to a cancer charity of your choice, or perform a random act of kindness in her memory, or raise a glass to Sarah knowing she left this world a better place.
