

Stanley Louis Crutcher was born on Sunday, April 30, 1939, to John Henry and Agnita (English) Crutcher in his parents' home. His siblings were one brother, John Lee, and one sister, Marcella (Wilson), and both preceded him in death. He was a native and lifelong resident of Indianapolis, IN.
Early life: Stanley attended Indianapolis Public Schools including the historic Crispus Attucks High School. During high school he met and fell in love with Phyllis Roslynn Talley. Their courtship began when he asked her, "Phyllis, can I have a chance?" Their love and commitment would continue over 64 years.
Family man: Stanley and Phyllis were married on April 24, 1956. Three daughters were born to their union: Stephanie Louise, Elizabeth Denise (Neecy) and Stacy Lynn. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren would follow. He loved to be surrounded by his family to share stories, wisdom, good food, movies and humor.
Diligence: His first job to support his young family was at the American Foundry. Stanley was also employed with City Sanitation. He held the same position at Allison Engine a subsidiary of General Motors, now of Rolls Royce, for over 50 years.
Servanthood: On August 8, 1976 Stanley received the baptism of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:38. He was a member of Mt. Zion Apostolic Church for 43 years. In that time he served God wholeheartedly and loyally under the leadership of his two Pastors, Bishop James O. Franklin and Bishop Lambert W. Gates, Sr. Throughout these years Bro. Crutcher helped to clean the church, was a server in the church dining hall and kitchen worker, usher, Baptism Committee member, was active in the Brotherhood Dept. and sang with the Brotherhood Ensemble, and taught Sunday School. He was ordained Deacon Crutcher, then later became Chairman of the Board of Deacons and Trustees.
Legacy: Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Phyllis "Phil;" daughters, Stephanie and Stacy; sister-in-law, Eva Withers, grandchildren, Leah Chandler, Roslynn and (Harry) Coleman, Angela Young, Darrell Jr. and (Jazimen) Morgan, Erica and Yolonda Young; great-grandchildren, Terrance Jr. Christopher, Dyllan Stanley, Mercy, Chloe, Darrell III, Jeremiah, and Janelle; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, former coworkers, neighbors, the Mt. Zion Apostolic Church family, spiritual brothers and sisters, and many sons and daughters in the Lord's church. He is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Renee Rachelle Morgan, one grandson-in-law, Terrance Chander, Sr., and his beloved daughter, Elizabeth Denise Young.
