Stephen Ray Meister

Stephen Ray Meister, age 49, of Beech Grove, Indiana passed away on Saturday May 9, 2020. Stephen was born April 21, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois to Melvin and Linda (Shirley) Meister. He married Lisa True on October 28, 1989 and they spent 30 years together. Steve graduated from Providence Baptist College in Illinois with his Bachelor's Degree in Theology. Steve was a Pastor at Southwood Baptist Church in Beech Grove, Indiana. He loved laying in his hammock by the creek and playing with his kids. He also had a tremendous passion for playing music, including guitar and piano. He loved singing and had a beautiful voice. Steve was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, husband and pastor. He loved his family and his God. He was the finest Christian man his family knew. He loved and served others selflessly. He will be profoundly missed. Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Meister; children, Lucas Meister, Dillon Meister (Sarah), Aries Meister, Stevi Joy Meister, Aaron Meister and Elijah Meister; parents, Melvin and Linda Meister; grandchildren, Jack Meister, Finn Meister and one on the way, Rhett Meister; and siblings, Sharon Zeedyk (Lial), Larry Meister (Becky) and Becky Smith (Chuck). Stephen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin Sr. and Gloria Meister and Willard and Annie Shirley. A visitation for Stephen will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237. Social distancing, masks, and a 25 person at a time rotation will be practiced, please feel welcome to come pay your respects and await instruction from staff in your vehicle. A private family funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Please understand that the family will be inviting those closest to Steve for this portion of the services. The service will be live streamed beginning approximately noon on the Little & Sons Indianapolis Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
