I always enjoyed spending time with Stu (and Doris.) I'll always remember the first time we met and spending a couple hours at their Scipio home, only to discover several inches of snow had fallen while I was there. Roasting hotdogs and marshmallows...DU banquets and get togethers...A great guy!!!

Those of us who were friends of Stu's will always have fond memories of the times spent with him. In my case we were hunting buddies and shared many hours hunting ducks and geese both here in Indiana and in Minnesota, Canada, North Dakota and Texas. We also worked together promoting and raising funds for our favorite organization, Ducks Unlimited. He was a good and generous man. I will remember him always.
Rest in peace my friend.

Newt was a good friend to many and we were lucky enough to be one of them! We loved his sense of humor and admired his many talents. He loved Doris and his family most of all and lived a full life....we will miss our friend. Love and comfort to Doris and all the family. Sincerely, Steve and Lora Ayers

Always referred to as Uncle Bill. This is how I meet Newt..
Always received a Christmas card from him and Doris, even after Bill passed away 22 yrs ago..
He was also a great friend to Sonny Perry,.
I remember the time Newt, Bill and Sonny went up to Canada duck hunting..
RIP Newt..
I will definitely keep your last years Christmas card.

Stu was my second cousin and I loved him very much. We didn't meet until 2000, and then it was at a family reunion, but we connected immediately and deeply. We got together with him and Doris a number of times since then and used to spend hours on the phone. His memories of Paxton, IL, where he and my mother both grew up, fed my imagination. I will miss him sadly.
