Theresa Temple Hampton

Mother Theresa Temple Landers-Hampton, the daughter of Lawrence Landers and Elousie-Starks Landers, was born April 10, 1941 in Allen County Scottsville, Ky. Three siblings were born to this union, her eldest sister Reba Hogan, her sister Betheda Mitchell and brother Douglas Landers which preceded her in death. Theresa spent her teenage life in Scottsville KY, she was a graduate of State Street High school and later married Joseph Clinton Hampton of Bowling Green, KY, in 1956. That union was blessed with three children, Christopher, Narda and Felicia. Theresa decided to move to Indianapolis, IN in the early 60's to start a new life, in her journey, were born two children with Craymore Bridgeforth, Timothy L. Bridgeforth and Talitha-Bridgeforth-Torres. To provide for her family, Theresa took nursing classes and worked as an office clerk at America United Life. Theresa was also a Seamstress and Laundry Technician for Cottage Dye House, Premier and retiring from Curley's Dry Cleaners in the early part of 2000's. Theresa started attending her mother's home church Victory Tabernacle Apostolic of Faith, where she always expressed her love for the church and the saints by traveling with the church and always giving generously. One day God pricked her heart to have a deeper desire and commitment in the church and she was baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost, she then became a member of Victory and served on the Mother's board and attended faithfully until her illness forced her to be homebound. Theresa loved shopping, working puzzles and showing love for her family by laying a foundation of being together, creating family memories with family outings in the backyard, cooking on the grill along with picnics in the park and celebrating the Holidays with her family. "Granny", as she was known to her thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, departed this life April 3, 2021, twenty-six years and two days after her mother Elouise Landers death, her son Timothy L. Bridgeforth and son in law Yancy D. Duncan preceded her in death in 2019 and 2020. Theresa is survived by her eldest sister Reba Hogan and sister in law Vivian Hampton, her children Christopher L. Hampton Sr. Narda Duncan, Felicia (John) Fitzpatrick Sr. and Talitha Bridgeforth-Torres, all of her grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
