Thomas Lee “Droop” Davis, Jr., 40, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. He was born January 16, 1978 in Indianapolis. He was a son, father, brother, and friend who is deeply loved and will truly be missed. He was a good hearted person that was able to bring a smile and a laugh to anyone. Once, Jr. had a house that he invited a couple to move in with him and when his father asked him who they were, he explained that they were living in the streets so he moved them in with him. This is just how Jr. was. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. It would be a new one at that because Jr. worked for a time at a business that made t-shirts and he would be sure to ask to take any discontinued shirts so he could share them with anyone he met that might need one. It was in honor of his caring and giving nature that his father and big brother decided to continue his sharing as a donor. In this way he may bring a smile to some he never got a chance to meet and his kind heart and other organs will carry on in the lives of others ensuring his love of others and gifts will live on.
Jr. is survived by his father and step-mother, Thomas and Brenda Davis; mother and step-father, Phyllis and Chris White; grandmothers, Catherine Smith and Amanda Davis; daughter, Essence Lee-Ann Davis; step-daughter, Angel Vanessa Nall; brothers, Tone Davis and Durrell Davis; sisters, Felicia Brown, Christina Brown, Farrah Brown, Thomisha Ponce, Brittany Robinson, and Breana Guynn; and many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Antwuan Davis.
Visitation will be 10 am to 12 pm Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46224. His Funeral Service will begin at 12 pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville, Indiana at a later date.
