Thomas Dominic Doyle Jr., Indianapolis, age 94, went to God on Sunday, August 15, 2021 surrounded with love. Thomas was born August 11, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Margaret (Schwimmer) Doyle and Thomas Dominic Doyle Sr. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jane (Gasti-neau)Doyle; daughter, Kitty Doyle Scott; daughter-in-law Karin Doyle; grandchild, Thomas Doyle and sister Rosemary Becher. Tom graduated from Cathedral High School in 1946 and attended Butler Uni-versity in Indianapolis after serving in the US Army. He began his career as a bread man and delivery driver with Continental Baking (Wonderbread & Hostess Cakes). His career spanned 36 years mostly in Indianapolis, Denver, and Los Angeles until he retired as Senior VP of Sales for the west coast. He spent his retirement in North Carolina and Florida, finding more time to do the things he enjoyed throughout his life such as golfing, bowling, reading and traveling. Thomas was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and had attended St. Matthew and St. Lawrence. He was also a die hard fan of Notre Dame football. Later in life he would serve as Ambassador at Wyndmoor of Castleton ensuring that all the new residents were welcomed and settled in. This was true to his spirit as he always made sure to know everyone's name and never met a stranger he didn't treat as a good friend throughout his life. Thomas loved being with his extended family and enjoyed entertaining them with his wonderful Irish tenor. His love of music included singing in the young at heart group and anything musical at the Wyndmoor. His family is so thankful for the wonderful compassionate caregivers in his last months on earth.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Aileen Parsons (John); sons, Thomas Doyle III (Carolann) and Kevin Doyle (Missi); son-in-law, Bob Scott; sister, Sr. Dominica Doyle OSF; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grand-children; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Joan of Arc, 4217 Central Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46205, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery following the service.
