Tyra A. Dennis passed away on November 17, 2024 at the age of 64. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to Samuel James Dennis and Rebecca Jane Glass on August 5, 1960. She was the oldest of three. Tyra graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. She went on to work in the medical industry for over 30 years. In that time, she worked as a coder, trainer, biller, manager, and much more. She moved throughout the industry working for doctor’s offices, insurance companies, nursing homes, and home health agencies.
As a young woman, Tyra gave her life to the Lord and encouraged her then secular family to return to their religious roots. As a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church, she participated in the choir, women’s ministries, lay ministries, and gave Bible studies.
Tyra is survived by her mother Rebecca Jane Dennis, son Cordell James Dennis, sister Miranda Gay Allen, brother Samuel James Dennis, nieces, cousins and host of other family members.
