Val was born in Westmoreland, TN to Odis and Margaret Meador on March 18, 1934. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School. She married James A Swearinger on October 17, 1956 in Indianapolis, IN.
Val worked from the time she graduated high school until her retirement from Mayflower Transit as an Executive Assistant. Many who had the pleasure to speak with her experienced her kindness, mild-mannered firmness and efficiency, all with a wicked sense of humor.
Valeah enjoyed playing golf, walking the State Parks with her husband, playing cards and being the family historian. She was well-known to those who enjoyed genealogy. She would gladly share with anyone and everyone who would ask.
Valeah is preceded in death by James (husband), Margaret (mother), Odis (father), Debra (daughter), and Donald (brother-in-law).
Valeah is survived by Pamela (daughter), David J (grandson), Rebecca (sister), Ann (cousin), Karen, Kathy, Kim, Danny, Denise, Diane, Dala, (nieces), and many great nieces and nephews.
