

She was married on September 27, 1941, to Everett Ellis Layman, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1994. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Harvey, Francis, and Wendell Zellers.
Vera is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and David Davis; son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Jacquelyn Layman; her grandchildren, Pam Keys, Lee Ann Burleson, Derek Burleson, Chad Layman, Shawn Layman, Heather Boyd; her great-grandchildren, Tarrah Brown, Brandon Keys, Matthew Keys, Cortney Cohee, Seth Burleson, Cody Burleson, Harrison Layman, Claire Layman, William Layman, Ella Layman, Courtney Layman, Kristin Layman; and her great-great grandchildren, Colton Bond and Brody Bond. Also surviving is one sister, Donna Correll; one brother, Edward Zellers, and many nieces and nephews.
Born on August 21, 1923, in Logansport, Indiana, Vera was part of "The Greatest Generation." She was an inspiration to others and always demonstrated love and compassion. Vera was an avid reader who also enjoyed genealogy. Above all else, she dearly loved and cared for her family. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her strength and humor. Vera will be sorely missed by both family and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 3rd from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at Little & Sons Funeral Home in Indianapolis with services immediately following. Burial will be on Thursday, July 3rd at 2:00PM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.
