Vietta Frances Smoot

97, passed away from this world on February 10, 2018. She was born December 18, 1920, the third child of George and Versie Osborne of Crab Orchard, Kentucky. She Married Donald Ray Smoot on APril 4, 1942. She and Ray Raised two children,Nancy Rae Cochran of Indianapolis and Robert (Linda) Smoot of Avon. Vietta worked in the cafeteria of Ben Davis High School for many years before she and Ray retired and moved to Ft. Meyers, Florida. She was known for her cherry pies and was expected to bring them to every family gathering. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Tracy Rae (Brian) Perisho of Plainfield and step- granddaughters, Julie Ann (Craig) Perry of Chula Vista, CA and Jodie Lyn (Brad) Dancer of Silver Spring, MD; 3 great grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren; and her brother, Wayne (Glenda) Osborne of Indianapolis and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald. Visitation for Vietta will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 3pm until 7pm at Family Funeral Care.
