

Virginia Lee (Kuhn) Nickel, 92, formerly of Dayton, OH and Japanese Gardens in Venice, FL, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born March 21, 1925 in Dayton, OH to the late Allen and Ellen (Greth) Kuhn. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Bud” W. Nickel, daughter, Nancy E. Nickel, and granddaughter, Stephanie Nickel. She and her husband married the day after she graduated high school as he was already enlisted with the Coast Guard and were married 62 years. They lived many places throughout their lives and she worked as a sales person and book keeper for many retailers. She was an avid reader and will always be remembered for her feisty personality.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy “Tim” Nickel (Gail) and William “Bill” Nickel (Linda); daughters, Sandra “Sandy” Wilds (Terry) and Jane Anne Kelly (Harold “Butch”); grandchildren, Lori Churchill (Mark), Chris Wilds, Robyn Wirkerman (Dean), Deb Wolt (Lee), Toni Kolker, Steven Kelly (Melissa), Cheryl Coen (Aaron), and Tim Nickel Jr.; 14 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
