Warren "Man" G.H. Burton Jr.

Warren George Harding Burton, Jr.’s (“Man” as he was loving known by family and friends) sunrise was March 3, 1959. Born to Rose Burton and Warren Burton, Sr. He was number 4 of eight children.

A Time to Learn and a Time to Work:

Man was raised on the Westside of Indianapolis. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools #24, #44 and Northwest High School where he graduated in 1977. Man was employed at Stuarts Moving Service and retired from the Indianapolis Star & News after more than 20 years of service. Man was also an entrepreneur at an early age, he owned his own lawn care business cutting yards around the city of Indianapolis until his untimely death.

A Time for GOD:

Man accepted Christ at an early age at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.

A Time for Family:

Man loved hanging out with his brother and sisters playing cards and Bingo, something he looked forward to daily, he enjoyed bowling, watching westerns and sports, he was an avid swimmer and an accomplished lifeguard. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whom he loved deeply.

A Time to Rest:

Man departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 65 years, 3 months, and 2 days. Man was preceded in death by both parents, both maternal and paternal grandparents, Nephews, Kenneth Whittaker, and John Williams (“John Jon”).

Man leaves to cherish his loving memory; his special friend Chris Berry, his lifelong friend Pamala Crenshaw, his daughters; Juanyta Glenn (Destiney), Ronika Fennell (Larry), his brother; Phillip Burton (Denola), his sisters; Joanna Cole, Donna Nash, Terisa Branson (Earl), Shirley Burton, Tracey Williams, and Victoria Lewis (Steve). Grandchildren Kristiana, Sabastian, and Sasha. Nephews; Herber Crutcher, Jr., Damon Burton, Arian Blanchard, Michael Burton, William Webster and John Earl Branson, Jr., and a host of nieces, cousins, uncles and aunts.

A visitation for Man will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 2815 Sutherland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46205, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
