

Wiley Eugene "Gene" McCullough, 93 of Indianapolis passed away on August 27, 2026. Gene was born on December 20, 1932, in Westfield, Illinois, to the late John and Ruth (Turner) McCullough. Gene was a standout athlete in both baseball and basketball at Franklin Township High School, and he attended Indiana Central University, now University of Indianapolis after graduation where he played baseball and basketball. Gene enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Eversole, being Honorably Discharged after his service. He went on to work for Mechanics Laundry now Cintas where he was a driver for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marjorie Rice and his brother Jack McCullough; son-in-law Randy Wright.
Gene is survived by his wife, Donna (Rabourn) McCullough; children, Randy (Carla) McCullough, April McCullough, Teri McCullough, Lee Jay (Bridgette) McCullough, JoAnn O'Keefe-Welch (Doug), Janet (Michael) Coons and Jim (Denise) Jarrett; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will gather and receive family and friends at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 9950 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana on Tuesday, September 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Acton Cemetery in Acton, Indiana with military rites conducted by the US Navy at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southminster Presbyterian Church.
