Obituary of Wille Richardson Sr.
Willie Richardson was born on May 27, 1932 in Union Springs, Alabama to the late Walter and Annie Richardson. Willie entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the age of eighty-eight years of age. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ola Mae Richardson, son Ron Richardson, daughter Carmella Richardson, brother Eddie Richardson and grandparents Will and Lorena Long. Willie was affectionately known as "Lil Buddy" and "Gabe" to family and friends. As a young boy, Wille and his family moved to Montgomery, Alabama where he attended Hale Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High School After high school he joined the United States Army (1950-1954) and served in the Korean War. He received an Honorable Discharge in1954. After his discharge from the Army, Willie lived in New Jersey and Florida until he relocated to Indianapolis, IN to be near family. It was in Indianapolis where he reconnected with Ola Mae Johnson. Willie and Ola Mae knew one another as children while living in Alabama, they were married and raised their family in Indianapolis; Ola Mae passed away in 2005. Willie professed his hope in Jesus Christ and trusted Jesus as His Savior. Willie was an avid Bible reader. Willie was employed at Naval Avionics and retired after over 35 years of employment there. He loved working on cars and fixing them up for resale. Willie was well known for his debating skills, he would debate anybody over anything! Willie leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life; his children, Pernell Richardson, Willie Richardson Jr., Mark Richardson, Willie Mae Perry, Jannie Tarvin, Christine Jones (Rufus) and Juanita Richardson; brothers Walter Richardson Jr, Clarence Richardson (Ernestine) and Edward Richardson; sisters Pearl Wright, Jessie M. Richardson, "Sister-in-Love", Jessie Staten; grandchildren, Rev. Derwin Perry (LaKeshia), Willie Richardson(3rd), Mark Richardson Jr. (Sha'Tesha), Deshawn Solver, Orlando Richardson, Adonis Richardson, Aja Bradfield (Quinton), Indya Kemp (Lewis), great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
