William Joseph Barrett

William Joseph Barrett Jr., 92, of Indianapolis departed this life February 18, 2018. He was born February 6, 1926 in Indianapolis to William J. and Lillian G. Barrett. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School 1945. Bill was the owner of Barrett’s Inn and also worked at Indianapolis Gas Company and Master Glass & Color. He was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his first wife Mary Fleck Barrett, sister Elizabeth Bush. Bill is survived by his wife Phyllis Barrett, children Diane Hay, William J. (Carol) Barrett III, Debra Barrett, Denise (Mike) Tobin, Dennis (Beth) Barrett, step children Phil and Paul (Jackie) Markey and Ann (Jim) Branson, 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation for Bill will be Monday, February 26 from 4 – 8 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 27 at 10 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Services entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary.
