

82, of Indianapolis, died March 18, 2015. Born August 10, 1932 in Springfield, OH the son of the late Raymond and Anna (Schwartz) Beckman. He was an Army veteran in the Army Security Agency. Former buyer for Stewart Dry Goods and Kaufman's in Louisville. Retiring from L. S. Ayres & Co. Indianapolis. A graduate of Bellermine (College) University Pioneer class in 1954 and a recipient of the Msgr. Alfred F. Horrigan Medal of Meritorious Service. Member of the St. Pius X Council of the Knights of Columbus, Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels, Society of St. Vincent de Paul. William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Gayle (LeBlanc); his four children, William Joseph Jr. (Anne DeLisle), Joseph Andre, Mary Patricia Smith (Brian), Timothy Joseph; two grandchildren, Brandon R. Smith and Carolyn M. Smith; brother, John (Ruth) Beckman; sisters, Marion (Ed) Pollock deceased, Virginia (Joe) Ulliman.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday, March 24th, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am all at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment follows in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
