William Lewis Pate, Jr.

William Lewis Pate, Jr., age 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. William was born in Indianapolis, IN to parents William Pate Sr. and Elizabeth Gartin. He attended Harry E. Woods High School and continued his career at Firestone. William also worked for INDOT. William married love of his life Louise Pate and spent the rest of his life in bliss. He loved basketball, playing conga drums, reading, especially his bible, and fishing. William loved spending time with his family the most.

William is survived by his wife, Louise Pate; sons, Michael (Stephanie) Pate, William Pate III, Lamarco Pate, Cameron Pate; daughters, Tawana Pate and Robin (Darrell) McCann; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings Mary Jackson, Carol (Terry) Walker, Brenda Pate, and Ronald (Mary) Pate, Faynette Williams, Janet Bryant; and many nieces and nephews. William is preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Elizabeth, daughter Thea Pate, siblings Robert Pate, Dennis Pate, Richard Pate and Sylvia Pate.

A visitation will be held on September 30th from 10am to 12pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis IN 46219. A committal service will follow after at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 W 38th Street, Indianapolis IN 46208.
