

Zelma Pearl (Ivey) McGuire, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away April 7, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital. Pearl was born in London, Kentucky the daughter of the late Frank J. & Kittie (Hammons) Ivey. She was a housewife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband David Austin McGuire, Sr., August 22, 2013, her son Paul Lynn McGuire, March 31, 2014; brothers, Clarence Hampton, Carl Hampton, Arthur Ivey, Issac Hampton and Larry Ivey, sisters, Edith Miller, Martha Rodman, Joyce Eaton and Rose Blessing.
There are some who bring a light so bright into this world that it never dims.
Pearl was that light in our lives, someone who always spoke her mind and put the well-being of her family and friends above everything else. She was the best mom and grandma anyone could ask for and gave everything she could for her family. In her passing, we hope to remember that those we love never truly leave us and there are some things not even death can touch. Her love, laughter and wisdom will continue to live on in each of our hearts.
Zelma is survived by her children, David A. McGuire, Jr ., Anthony McGuire, Antoinette McCool and her husband Thomas, and Paula K. Holbrook and her husband Timothy; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donnie Ivey and his wife Jeanette, John Ivey; sisters, Mable Lewis and Kathy Ringley.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025 at Family Funeral Care.
Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, Indiana.
