Alice Virginia Reeves

Alice Virginia “Ginger” Reeves,76, a resident of Leroy, AL passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Providence Hospital. She was born to Garrie Lee Wheat and Annie Rebecca Walker Wheat on March 26, 1940 in Wagarville, AL. Ginger was well known by everyone as a teller at the bank. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. Survivors include her husband of over 54 years, Edward “Buster” Reeves of Leroy, AL; 2 children, Lamar “Betsy” Reeves of Spanish Fort, AL and Allison “Mike” Hughston of Montevallo, AL; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Hughston and Racheal Reeves; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 5PM-7PM at Lathan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 beginning at 10AM at First Baptist Church of Leroy with Bro. James Watkins and Bro. Joel Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Leroy Baptist Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jim Wheat, Patrick Paul, Scottie Chastain, Kevin Wheat, Larry Wheat, Josh Cole and John Reeves III. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Jay, Larry Wiggins, Gene Etheredge, Kay Hawkins, Joe Davis and Juan Howell.
