Michael Henry Davis

Michael Henry “Mike” Davis, age 49, born October 17, 1965, died December 12, 2014. Mr. Davis was a native of Thomasville, AL and resident of Jackson, AL where he attended Walker Springs Road Baptist Church. Mr. Davis was a millwright for Gulf Scotch Lumber. He was a very family orientated man who loved his children dearly. A true character, he was known to many as “Larry the Cable Guy” due to his lively and outgoing nature as well as his spirited sense of humor and history as his the class clown in high school. Mr. Davis enjoyed watching Alabama Football, hunting deer, and loved watching movies and TV to the point that he earned the nickname “Mike TV”. Mr. Davis truly had the holiday spirit all year round; enjoying all holidays and any opportunity to spread joy, smiles and cheer. He was also into the survivalist mentality which you could witness through his knife, camping and outdoor equipment collection. He often dreamed aloud of moving to Alaska to live off the land with his family and even had packs ready for each of them. An avid Dirt Cheap Shopper, Mr. Davis loved to shower his kids with the treasures he found on his trips to one of his favorite stores.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 9 years, Debbie P. Davis of Jackson, AL; mother, Glenda Davis Andrews of Grove Hill, AL; father, Don (Nancy) Davis of Satsuma, AL; children, Joshua Michael Davis of Grove Hill, AL, Kasen Andy Davis of Jackson, AL, and Kelsen-Ann Larsyn Davis of Jackson, AL; his in-laws, Casey and Faye Powell of Walker Springs, AL; grandmother, Lorene Davis of Midland, PA; brothers, Doug (Carmen) Davis of Grove Hill, AL, Mark (Kimberly) Davis of Crestview, FL, Chris (Jessica) Davis of Saraland, AL, Sean Davis of Satsuma, AL; nieces and nephews, Dallas Goodman, Calley Davis, Carter Davis, Colby Davis, Parker Goodman, Madison Goodman, Connor Davis, Abigail Davis, Emily Davis, Morgan Powell; and family pet, Buddy Hambone Davis. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Belie and Ollie Newsome.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson at 2:00 p.m. with Bro.
