Susie Hentschel Shepard

Susie Hentschel Shepard, 79, a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. She was born June 21, 1935 to the late John Hentschel and Leona Tutt Hentschel. She was a retired science teacher at Citronelle High School as well as a professor at the University of South Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Timothy M. Shepard, who passed away after only 27 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Toni Lynn Williams and Timothy M. Shepard, Jr. and a sister, Sophie Platt. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Chalker Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clyde Presley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Lathan Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Christopher Salter, Lorne F. Johnson, Hunter Taylor, Johnathon Massey, Rusty Taylor, Derrick Satterfield and Benjamin Harris.
