Mr. Andrew William Rees, 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a graveside service immediately following at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Rees was born on September 28, 1922 in Jackson, MS to the late O.S. and Elsie Farmer Rees. He attended Mississippi State University until he enlisted in the United States Army. He owned and operated Rees Dairy Farm. He was an avid hunter and loved all animals.
Mr. Rees is preceded in death by his wife, Helon H. Rees, his parents, and stepmother, Frankie Tyrone Rees.
He is survived by his sister, Mary “Chick” Rees; nephew, Ronnie Tyler (Janice); great-niece, Rees Tyler; great great-nephew, Tyler Fairbanks; and numerous cousins and friends.
