Arvilla Nell Hancock, age 81, of Clinton, Mississippi passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. A visitation for Arvilla will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Arvilla was born in Philadelphia, MS on February 28, 1942. She worked as a nurse at University of Mississippi Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Arvilla loved to travel, cross stitch, grow flowers, and was an avid reader.
She is preceded in her passing by her parents, Crumpton and Zula Barrett; her sister, Darlene Barrett; and her cat, Lucky.
Arvilla is survived by her children- Randy Hancock (Sue), Ricky Hancock (Paula), and Renee Hicks (David); grandchildren- Angela, Melissa, Colin, Christian, Amber, Candace, Chris, and Tiffany; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and her kitty companion, Angel.
