

Barbara attended Calhoun High School in Calhoun, Alabama where she graduated Valedictorian in the Class of 1962. She moved to Mississippi for an employment opportunity and after gaining experience in various disciplines, she decided to attend Gulf Coast Junior College in Biloxi, Mississippi where she attained a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and later, pursued and attained an Associate Degree in Nursing, graduating in 1986, with a Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Subsequent to completing her education, Barbara was employed at Howard Memorial Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi and worked part-time in other hospitals in the Gulf Coast area. Upon moving to Jackson, Mississippi, she was employed at MS Baptist Hospital and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. During her long career in Nursing Barbara cared for adult patients, worked with and trained new nurses, and specialized in the NICU and Well Baby departments where she devoted herself to caring for newborns.
Barbara transitioned on March 30, 2026 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, in the presence of her children.
Barbara leaves her loving children: her son Reginald D. Crumpton, her daughter Wendy R. Crumpton, her son Darryl M. Crumpton all of Clinton, Mississippi; and her son Jerome, D. Crumpton and daughter-in-law Shamika Crumpton of Bessemer, Alabama; her brother Arthur F. Crumpton and sister-in-law Mavis Crumpton of Montgomery, Alabama; and her sister Mary F. McCray of Biloxi (Ocean Springs?) Mississippi; her grand daughters: Brittney Seago and Justin Seago of Ridgeland, Mississippi; Adaysha Evans of Clinton, Mississippi; Jaxson Crumpton of Birmingham, Alabama; Arrylle Crumpton of Byram, Mississippi; her grandson Kaleb Seals of Maryland; and Jordan Jackson of Ridgeland, Mississippi; her great grand daughters Isabella Seago and Piper Seago of Ridgeland, Mississippi; and her great grandson Micheal Seago of Ridgeland, Mississippi; and a host of other extended family, relatives and loving friends.
