Mrs. Betty R Fortenberry

She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel A. Bailey, her mother, Ruth B. Allen, and her husband of 50 years, Bobby C. Fortenberry.

She is survived by her son, Shane Fortenberry (Melany), her daughter, Kim Fortenberry, her son, Bobby Fortenberry (Becky); her sister, Donna Sue Bailey Malone and her brother, Bob Bailey (Alva Lynn) . She was blessed with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a thirty-year employee of Woman’s Hospital. She was a remarkably giving person who never met a stranger, loved people and loved being a long-time member of Alta Woods Baptist Church. It can be truly said that she left the world a better place for having lived in it.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the funeral to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
