Betty Lou Ross

Betty Lou Mize Ross, 89, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. Visitation will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Lakewood Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 11 am. Directly after the service, friends and loved ones are invited to join the family for her burial at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Richard R and Lee Armstrong Mize; brother, Richard R. (Dick) Mize, and her husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Ross. Betty Lou was born August 26, 1926 in Logan, WV and moved to Jackson when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Central High School in 1944. She was loved by all who knew her and could light up a room with her smile. She loved to play tennis, watch the Atlanta Braves, and any football team that had a Manning.

She is survived by daughters, Becky Ross of Jackson, MS and Betty Vinson and her husband Tom of Madison, MS and granddaughter Katherine Vinson of Tuscaloosa, AL. She was faithful to God and a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and an honorary member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church.
